Job Description
Teach German within the IB Middle Years Programme at Ntare Louisenlund International School Rwanda in Bugesera. The role involves designing unit plans and learning resources, delivering cooperative, inquiry-based and project-based lessons, managing classrooms, supporting personalized learning, assessing student progress, and maintaining accurate attendance records.
The teacher will also facilitate self-directed learning sessions, provide subject-specific and metacognitive support, prepare term reports, communicate regularly with students, mentors and parents, and mentor up to ten students annually. The teacher will contribute to school development, professional development activities, and the development of the school’s 21st-century pedagogy.
Job Requirements
Teacher certification and/or teaching experience, preferably within the IB Middle Years Programme or Diploma Programme, particularly in German language instruction.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree is required. Master’s Degree is desirable.
Experience
Teaching experience is preferred, especially experience with the IB Middle Years Programme or Diploma Programme.
Good to Have
Experience with international education, IB programmes, inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, STEM-focused education, and student mentoring.
Language
Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to use English effectively as a language of instruction. Exceptions may apply to foreign language courses.
Other Requirements
Passion for teaching and working with young people, willingness to participate in professional development, and interest in contributing to the school’s pedagogical and institutional development.
